About Eric

Eric Wewerinke (1973) studied Business Administration at the University of Groningen. During that time he took a gap year to travel across land to India. Back home again he received the invitaion to join the sailing trip from Holland to Greece which his book Dark Waves is based on.

After surviving his bizarre adventure, he continued to satisfy his desire to see the world. He studied in Macau and resided in Kuala Lumpur. He lived and worked for a while in Japan (Tokyo), and then returned back to the Netherlands to start working as a marketer for Philips.

For twenty years he was active (internationally) for brands like Doritos & Lay's and was responsible for campaigns such as that of 0.0% beer with Charlie Sheen. At this moment in time he is helping big and small companies with their marketing and brand strategy and he has put his own Smoothie and Kombucha brands on the market.

The last years he combines his work in marketing with writing. After his best-selling debut Dark Waves, he is now working on his next novel. Eric lives in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
